The Carole Doyle Peel Fund for Works on Paper Announced

KunstWorks is thrilled to announce that the Estate of Carole Doyle Peel has established a new fund for the acquisition of works on paper at the UC Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAM/PFA). The creation of the Carole Doyle Peel Fund for Works on Paper will carry on the legacy of the Berkeley artist and teacher Carole Peel (b. 1934, Los Angeles, CA) whose devotion to education and love of drawing were a consistent and enlivening force in the Bay Area arts scene since the 1960s. Peel was Professor Emerita at the California College of the Arts, where she taught generations of students for nearly five decades. As a graduate of the University of California Berkeley's Department of Art, it is fitting that the Carole Doyle Peel Fund for Works on Paper will enrich the university museum's collection, which includes two of Peel's own drawings: Self-Portrait (1995) and Chardin and Paris (2003), shown above.
